Rachel Lafain (She/Her)
Rachel provided support coordination as a sole trader throughout 2020 and 2021, before founding Contemporary Coordination in 2021. She now leads the exceptional team that you will see in the bios below.
Rachel is a registered social worker with 13 years’ experience working in a wide range of fields including disability, mental health, refugee and multicultural services, LGBTIQA+ services, education, research and community development. She has particular interest areas in complex mental health and supporting regional communities.
In her spare time Rachel enjoys sewing, drinking coffee, being at the beach, live music/theatre and hanging out with her pets.
Rachel spends her working days supporting the team. She welcomes a chat to understand the needs of new participants so she can recommend the most suitable team member to assist. Rachel is unable to work directly with new participants.
Ren M (He/Him)
Ren joined Contemporary Coordination towards the end of 2021 and has a background in disability and training sectors for over 10 years, working for both not-for-profit and government organisations.
Ren has a passion for assisting participants to build their individual capacity to have full choice and control over their daily life, work on their goals through engagement with supports and services and inclusion within their local communities.
Ren provides support coordination and specialist support coordination services and is fluent in English, and can speak Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil. He has also had the opportunity to live and work in several middle eastern countries.
In his spare time Ren loves spending time with his young family, gardening and travelling.
Ren does not have availability to work with new participants.
Taieri Walsh (she/her)
Taieri joined Contemporary Coordination at the end of 2023 and has a background in disability support and team management.
She is a compassionate, caring and emphatic individual who wears her heart on their sleeve. Taieri is passionate about collaboratively creating a positive environment for and with all those she supports; with a person centred, strength based-approach built on trust and respect. She strives to encourage and assist people to access the tools they need to live an exciting and fulfilling life.
Taieri provides support coordination and psychosocial recovery coaching services and specialises in working with young adults. She brings lived experience with mental health to the coaching role.
Outside of work Taieri enjoy cooking, traveling, learning about new cultures and reading.
Taieri has availability for new support coordination and psychosocial recovery coaching referrals.
Ryan S (he/him)
Ryan commenced with Contemporary Coordination in April of 2024 with one year of experience as a support coordinator specialising in working with NDIS participants who are autistic or with global developmental delays. He has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services), and is currently studying a Masters of Counselling (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). Ryan takes pride in using a critical thinking lens when applying himself to problem solving in his role.
Ryan is passionate about working in disability and mental health having grown up surrounded by family and friends who have been significantly affected both mentally and physically by social disadvantage. This has led him to help those who have experienced similar barriers, assisting to provide the best support he can.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys applying daily self-care including meditating and going to the gym. He enjoys working on project cars, track driving, and attempting to learn musical instruments including the bass guitar.
Liza C (she/her)
Liza is a seasoned professional with over 17 years experience in the mental health and disability sectors. This includes working as a Specialist Service Coordinator, Life Coach, Peer Specialist and Support Coordinator.
Liza is able to meet the full range of an individual’s needs; empower through capacity building supports, recovery coaching practices, and to assist in supporting people to make informed decisions which lead to increasing confidence and purpose.
Liza is highly experienced in facilitating better coordination of clinical and non-clinical services to deliver a ‘wrap around’ support to meet the full range of an individual’s needs. She also brings her lived experience to the role.
In her spare time Liza loves gardening, spending time with her labradoodle Shiloh, riding her bike and being at the beach.
Liza does not have current availability to accept new referrals.
Pip (She/Her)
Pip has been part of the Contemporary Coordination team since June 2024, with a background in
support work and administration roles.
Pip has a mixed role of support coordination and intake officer. This means that she helps people in their first meeting with us to ensure all the paperwork is completed properly. She is highly organised, an excellent communicator,
and has run her own business for 10 years.
Pip has both personal and professional experience with physical and psychosocial disability and uses this awareness when helping others. Pip possesses a strong desire to help people from all walks of life to reduce barriers and assist to develop the tools to navigate complex situations and achieve their goals using strength based approaches.
In her spare time Pip enjoys gardening, arts and crafts and spending time with her golden retriever Dorothy and elderly cat Buddy.
Pip has availability for support coordination services.
Daniel (he/him)
Daniel joined the Contemporary Coordination team in mid-2024. He historically came from a construction background, but decided to follow his passion for helping people and changed careers to pursue a career in social work. He has completed a Cert IV in mental health and is a final year Bachelor of Social Work student. Daniel has been working in the sector for almost 4 years specialising in mental health, in particular men’s health and suicide intervention.
Previous to working with Contemporary Coordination, he worked as a psychosocial recovery coach and support coordinator in the Northern Territory, predominantly working with First Nations participants.
Daniel is passionate about helping participants to utilise their NDIS plan as efficiently as possible so they can achieve their goals and live their best life.
When he is not working, Daniel enjoys spending time with his young family, camping, gardening, reading and renovating.
Clover H (she/her)
Clover Huang joined Contemporary Coordination mid 2024 as a support coordinatior and psychosocial recovery coach, and she has a background in counselling, neuro-divergent coaching, and NDIS support work. She has also worked as a mental health educator and managed cross-cultural educational projects in China, enhancing her ability to provide culturally sensitive and effective support to clients with diverse backgrounds.
Holly (she/her)
Holly joined Contemporary Coordination in 2024 and has a background in mental health and counselling. She completed her Masters of Counselling in 2021 and has worked in drug and alcohol counselling and youth mental health counselling. Holly also holds a Bachelors Degree in Communication and spent many years running her own business.
Holly is passionate about respectful, open communication and empowering people to live fulfilling and happy lives. Her counselling background allows her to gather and utilise information in an effective and sensitive manner.
Holly provides support coordination to children, adolescents and adults.
Outside of work, Holly enjoys cooking, pilates and spending time with her family.
Holly has availability for support coordination referrals, focussing on the Eastern suburbs, Adelaide Hills, Murray Bridge and surrounds.
